  The translation of the Casa Jaya:

  Jaya’s House

  Hi! I’m Piter. I work here at Casa Jaya (Jaya’s House)
  And Casa Jaya is an Eco-cultural space focused on the integral development of the human being.
  Casa Jaya arose from a group of friends that wanted to add something to the others, wanted to share knowledge, wanted to create a place, a space where things flourish.
  And synchronically one of these friends, his family, had an inheritance of a space and we proposed this place to become Casa Jaya.
  We carry out several cultural activities here like, workshops, lectures, courses, classes about many subjects, from yoga class until natural birth lectures, for example…
  We also have a vegetarian restaurant here in the house. It’s vegetarian and we don’t even use any kind of animal product including eggs and milk. We concern about a completely vegetal alimentation.
  So here is the kitchen where we prepared, with kindness, to serve the customers. 30 to 40 people come here to eat everyday and go back home happier and well-nourished.
  Here in the space we seek to be a model of sustainable housing, reducing our impact on the environment
  The solutions that we already have in use are the worm composting system. Which are boxes where the worms compost organic waste produced by the House, and as an answer to this we a have a fertilized soil. A fertilizer full of nutrients that we also use here in the gardens of the House, which are many.
  We have a recently built green-roof that is made of bamboo. Where we have a vegetable planting on it, aromatic spices, and the main objective of this roof is to increase the thermal comfort. When it’s cold you can keep it warm, the proper temperature and when it’s hot it doesn’t heat up too much. The bamboo is used because is as strong as the wood, absorbs much more carbon dioxide from the environment and grows faster. So it’s much more sustainable than the wood.
  It’s important to say that technology is not only the electronic. Technology is a smart way to use the natural sources. Since the wheel, the wheel is a technology, until a plant in your house has a technological function.
  Casa Jaya was the way we found to improve the city, the environment where we live through the culture, the learning, the alimentation, reducing the environmental impact that we do.

  Good fruits here at Jaya. Just have faith on the seeds and good fruits will come.
