ABOUT THIS CONTEST

We love betting on things. When we bet against ourselves it’s fun and easy. What gets really interesting is when you bet against other people. The tantalizing thrill of victory versus an opponent is a rush like no other. You were right, he was wrong; decided on the field, court, track etc. We’re looking for videos that reflect the excitement of betting on live sporting events while explaining how to do so through Betfair.

Betfair is the world's biggest betting community at 3 million strong. Bound by a commitment to innovation and value, in just ten years Betfair has revolutionised the live sports betting industry.

What makes Betfair different?

Betfair allows sport fans to come together through an automated betting exchange. When you place bet on a sporting event Betfair automatically matches your bet with an opponent, or opponents who are betting against you.

You can set your own odds, place your bet and Betfair finds someone making the opposite bet and matches you up. And becasue you're betting direct with other individuals you can get better odds and bigger wins. You also have a chance to win at every step of a live sporting event; you can keep betting as the event gets underway or even change your bets after the game begins!

YOUR MISSION

Make a video, 60 – 90 seconds long, about a person explaining how Betfair works to a friend before, during or right after a sporting event. The friend can be a down on his luck bettor or just someone that’s interested in what Betfair is all about. It can also be an animation explaining the excitement of betting with Betfair’s unique betting technology (i.e. betting exchange, in game betting). The field is wide open for you to explain the finer points of using Betfair for betting on your favorite sports.

While your video’s story is key, your focus should be on how easy it is to use Betfair and should also hit upon some of the following points:

• 1. Betfair is the world's largest betting community at 3 million strong.
• 2. When someone makes a bet on Betfair that bet is automatically matched with someone else who thinks the opposite.
• 3. You can use Betfair 24/7 with the amount of sports available to bet on.
• 4. You can place/trade bets while the game is in progress. You can use Betfair to change your position as the game progresses.

REQUIREMENTS

• 60 - 90 seconds long
• Because this is a British company, you must use actors or voice over talent with British accents.
• Do not show any 3rd party logos (this includes team logos)

All music, images, video footage and other content must be either originally produced by the filmmaker submitting the video, or proper permissions must be authorized by the copyright owner. Proper permissions must include the right for the filmmaker to use the content commercially. Likewise, it is the responsibility of the filmmaker to ensure that all permissions are in place for use of actors' likenesses.

By submitting materials under this contest, you (and any other person represented to be an author) assign with full title guarantee all right, title, and interest in and to such materials to The Sporting Exchange Limited (a Betfair group company). In this paragraph and those which follow, ‘Betfair’ shall be taken to mean The Sporting Exchange Limited and/or any other Betfair group company as applicable.

You and acknowledge and agree that all such materials submitted under this contest become the sole property of Betfair and will not be returned.

If you have any rights to the materials that cannot be assigned to Betfair, you unconditionally and irrevocably waive the enforcement of such rights, and all claims and causes of action of any kind against Betfair and Zooppa, and each of their respective successors and assigns with respect to such rights. You shall take all actions reasonably requested by Betfair to effect, perfect or evidence Betfair’s ownership of the submitted materials and associated intellectual property rights.

Betfair reserves the right to (a) reproduce/distribute all entries submitted in any and all media throughout the world in perpetuity, (b) alter, amend, edit or change entries prior to distribution and (c) use, distribute, reproduce, alter, amend and copyright entries for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Betfair and Zooppa are not under any obligation to use submitted content. You may not resubmit content that was not chosen for an award for another use, brand, or contest.

CONTEST AWARDS

Judging

Client Awards - to award the “Client Awards” a judging panel comprised of Betfair representatives will review all eligible entries/videos based on the following criteria: compelling story (25%), production value (25%), capturing the spirit of the "Betting Exchange” brief (25%), accuracy/factual (25%). The decisions of the judging panel shall determine the winners of “Client Awards.”

Community

The two remaining community awards will be determined through community voting starting at the opening of the entry period and ending at 11:59 p.m. PST, December 19, 2011. The top two most voted videos on Zooppa’s website will receive the 1st and 2nd community awards.
