Hi Guys – The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a pretty rad device. Opens up a world of possibilities for video, print & banner ads.
This competition introduces a couple of new elements, so I’m sure we’ll have a busy forum. The Early Entry Prize is new, and so is the Sharing prize.
The Early Entry Prize will go to the best video that is submitted before 4pm on Oct. 30. And the winner of the Early Entry Prize is absolutely eligible for any other contest prize – so it’s possible a video could take home a total of $12,500!
The Sharing Prize will go to one lucky individual who shares contest content with 5 or more people. I’ll keep you posted about when this contest will begin, but when it does, there will be a new way to share Zooppa contest content with the world. And if 5 people come back to Zooppa to check out the video, print or banner that you share, you could win $5,000. You can even share the contest itself (the brief page). You don’t even have to be a Zooppa member to win this prize.
Details will follow about how to participate in the sharing contest, and when it will begin.
Anyway, we’re all very excited about this one. I know the Zooppa community must be excited, too!

Hi Beautyfood-
I’m not quite sure I understand your question – are you asking whether this contest is open to everyone?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab competition is open to everyone 18 years old and older, with the usual exceptions (employees & relations of Samsung & Zooppa cannot compete).
This contest will not have a presence on the Italian Zooppa site, but Italians and residents of all countries are allowed to compete.
All text & dialog must be in English, however.
Thanks!

Hi Jackom & SwamiVeet -
Yes, this is a little confusing. So – Everybody can create a video, print or banner, and everyone can win a prize for a video print or banner.
- It’s only the Sharing Sweepstakes that has restrictions. The $5,000 sharing sweepstakes is only open to US residents 18 years old and above. This is due to the “Gambling” nature of a sweepstakes.
All the other prizes in this contest, for video, print or banner, including the $5,000 Early Video Prize, are open to all Zooppers.
Hope that helps!

Hi Everybody!
I am amazed at this contest so far!
We have so much beautiful content submitted, only six days into the competition!
Congratulations to everybody.
I did want to note, though, that it’s OK to use your own images, or any copyright-free images in the print portion of the competition. Samsung provided a HUGE amount of images to use in this competition, but I just wanted to make sure that it was understood that you don’t HAVE to use these images. it is perfectly OK to create a print design without the images that were provided.
Anyway, Bravo and Brava!

Is there a reason for voting even though there isn’t any community awards?

I don’t think it’s a matter of size, I see that one of the 2 banners already uploaded is very big. ciao Luca

Hi tcastle, and all the Zooppa Samsung Banner makers- Lucabis sent me his gif file, and I got an error too.
I believe we may be having some larger issues with the banner uploads in the Samsung competition.
I’ve alerted the ever-ready Zooppa dev squad, and they’re on the case. For now, maybe just hang onto your banners until further notice. I don’t know how two people were able to get their banners submitted and displayed, but somehow they did.
Why don’t we do some sounding out about this?
When I tried to upload Lucabis’s banner, I got the screen that says “There Has been An Error…Don’t worry, we have been notified and are working on it”.
—> is this what is happening to banner makers after you hit “upload”?
Anyway, we will work on this, and get it resolved.

Hi Cauthier!
No- there is no reason that there should be voting in the Samsung contest.
I turned that off.
Thanks!

Hi adelmikhael-
Yup. The animation frame is referring to a still frame from your banner. I’m not sure where we got that name. I suppose we could call it “Animation Still” or something.
But anyway, yeah, it refers to the still that would display when people are looking at the page with all the banners.
