Hello forum, I have a question that I am hoping to get an answer to. Should there be background music or should it only be the interviewee’s voice? Thanks :)

Just the voice of interviewee and possibly interviewer is all you should have.

Thanks Ian, but one more question still…. Should each 2 minute video be a complete 2 person interview, complete with greeting to the viewer in the beginning, interview in the middle and goodbye at the end (a 2 minute production)? Or is Euro RSG merely looking for a talking head directing each of his answers at the viewer/ camera? The questions would just be typed up as a title prior to each video’d answer being presented. Could you help with which direction they are seeking?

Very straightforward question and answers is what they’re looking for, more along the lines of the second bit you mentioned. But even titling isn’t necessary if you can hear the question being asked.

Please clarify the use of “brands” in the interviews. For example, Euro RSCG wants to hear which “brands” really get luxury. Are interviewees allowed to expressly mention the brands? Are they allowed to say “Mercedes Benz really understands luxury….” as an example. I appreciate that our actual video content cannot feature recognizable brands, but what about the information forthcoming from our interviewees? Since there will be subtitles, those brand names will be typed too….. Will that be acceptable?

Mentioning actual brands by interviewee and in subtitles is okay.

Wow, quick turnaround on this one. I like it. So, what is the expected end result of these videos? Do we need to brand these or are they simply looking for people’s answers for research purposes? Last question. Each consumer needs to be a patron of a particular country, not necessarily from that country originally, correct?

No branding necessary, just looking for answers for research project/presentation. And however you can get insight on particular markets is great, be it global travelers or local luxury consumers in a particular region.

Hey all! Brand new contest from Euro RSCG. They want to know what people think about luxury! Check out the full brief here!

In under 2 minutes, interview a luxury consumer from any of the following markets:

Brazil China Europe India United States

Have them answer the below seven questions:

What brands really “get” luxury today? What brands seem to have lost their luxury appeal? What are three words you would use to describe luxury today? Where does luxury travel still exist? What hotels really “get” luxury today? What hotels have lost their luxury appeal? What are three words you would use to describe a luxury hotel experience today?

We’re looking for straightforward interview style pieces, with HD quality footage and crisp clean audio. Multiple entries are encouraged. Interview as many people as you can, and turn in each interview into a separate entry!

Hit up this thread with any questions.
